Hunters for the Hungry Seventh Annual Sporting Clays Event

The Hunters for the Hungry program held its seventh annual Sporting Clays Benefit Shoot on Saturday and Sunday, July 9th and 10th.  The event was held at the Edmunds Farms Sporting Clays facility at Elm Hill Farm off River Road in Halifax, VA.

The event was another success raising over $2,500, which will be utilized to process and distribute venison to needy families in the Halifax, South Boston, and surrounding areas as well as the entire state for the remainder of the year. This amount of funding will allow the program to process and distribute over 12,500 four-ounce servings of this high protein nutritious meat to those less fortunate.

A total of 35 shooters participated in the event, which included 100 rounds of clays per shooter on two exciting and challenging courses. At the conclusion of the shoot, participants were divided into three classes, A, AA, and AAA, with awards going to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. The following is a list of winners in each category, but as one shooter put it, "Everyone was a winner who helped raise these monies to provide for those in need."
