Donating Venison:
Take your legally tagged deer to a participating meat processor, or specified collection
point.Click here to find a processor or collection point in
your area.
When you pick up your processed deer, donate a portion of the meat to the program. The
processor will store this meat until it is picked up for distribution to the hungry. Every
package counts. As little as ONE pound will help.
A Hunter donating an entire deer to our program is not required to pay any part
of the processing fee.
Encourage your fellow hunters and local meat processors to participate.
...It's that simple! Just donate a part of your deer (or the entire animal) through
your local processor. The easy donation of either one or two packages will mean a
lot to a hungry Virginian.
QUALITY IS IMPORTANT: Please do all within your control to insure the
quality of meat you donate to the Hunters for the Hungry program. Check the deer
for signs of poor health or conditions including growths, abscesses, enlarged or
discolored organs, or other visual indications of poor health.
...Help us deliver quality meat to the needy by prompyly field dressing the deer and
getting it under refrigeration as soon as possible if the environmental temperature is
over 40-degrees. Avoid contamination of the field dressed deer. Clean or trim any
contaminated areas.
Donating Financial Support:
...Hunters for the Hungry needs your financial support! Please help offset the
cost of processing venison to feed the hungry in your neighborhood. A contribution of
15-dollars will process 1/2 a deer (25-pounds of venison), 30-dollars will process 1-deer
(50-pounds of venison), and 60-dollars will process 2-deer (100-pounds of venison).
